Heartly: Interest-Based Dating and Social Connection App

Heartly needed to make online introductions feel personal without turning the experience into a complicated series of screens. The app had to collect enough information to support relevant profile discovery, yet the onboarding process could not feel lengthy or intrusive.

The media presented another challenge. Photos and videos were central to how users expressed themselves, but loading them across profile cards, discovery lists, and complete profiles could affect speed and responsiveness.

The product also involved several rapidly changing interactions. A profile could be liked, saved, matched, blocked, reported, or removed from discovery. Without clear feedback, users could repeat actions or misunderstand what had happened.

Messaging, notifications, subscriptions, coin balances, location preferences, and account controls all needed their own space without making navigation feel fragmented. Safety was equally important because the platform handled personal information, conversations, media, and location-related data.
